Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Faculty of Engineering 2024-2025 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony was held with great enthusiasm.
The graduation ceremony held at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Sezai Karakoç Culture Center was attended by BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Şenol Hakan Kutoğlu, Prof. Dr. Bekir Hakan Bakkal and Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Zehra Safi Öz, Senators, academic and administrative staff and families of the graduates.
The ceremony, which began with a moment of silence in memory of the martyrs and the reading of the National Anthem, continued with podium speeches. BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, who delivered the opening speech of the graduation ceremony, stated that BEUN, which was founded in Zonguldak, the first province of the Republic, as the first University of the Republic, is one of the most experienced and self-confident universities in Türkiye in this field due to its foundation on engineering education. Rector Prof. Dr. Özölçer, who stated that the University, which has made a name for itself frequently with its experience of over a century and its resounding successful works in the national and international arena, has assumed a leadership role in building the Century of Turkey with the thousands of graduates it has trained nationwide in the field of engineering, thanked the graduates who will build the second century of Türkiye and the faculty academicians who trained them and the valuable families of the graduates. Rector Prof. Dr. Özölçer, who advised the graduates to always represent BEUN in their future lives and to continue their lives with services that embrace all humanity with the perspective they gained here, in a humane, rational, moral and spiritual axis, concluded his speech by thanking all academic and administrative staff who contributed to the realization of the ceremony.
Making the opening speech, BEUN Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Şenol Hakan Kutoğlu stated that BEUN Faculty of Engineering, one of the most established faculties in Türkiye, has achieved greater success in the international arena every passing day with its BEUN experience of over a century, and that its graduates, who are currently active in many fields, have made great contributions to the construction of Türkiye in the next century. Prof. Dr. Kutoğlu also stated that he believes that graduates will always improve themselves and exhibit creative approaches in light of current developments, and that they will always represent BEUN in the best way with the diplomas they receive. Continuing his speech by thanking BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, who has made great contributions to the development of the faculty and the University, Prof. Dr. Kutoğlu concluded his speech by thanking the families who raised the graduates and the faculty's academic and administrative staff.
Coming to the podium to deliver the graduation ceremony speech, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Hamit Aydın emphasized that BEUN Faculty of Engineering is the foundation of the first University of the Republic and conveyed that they have always continued their education activities with this awareness and responsibility as a faculty. Expressing that BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, who always provides encouragement and support in the scientific production, research and project successes achieved by the faculty in national and international areas, has made great contributions, Prof. Dr. Aydın thanked him. Prof. Dr. Aydın concluded his speech by expressing his pride in graduating valuable students who will play an active role in the strong future of Türkiye and thanking all the academic and administrative staff who made this possible and the valuable families who have made great efforts in bringing the students to this day.
Graduation Ceremony, after the opening speeches, BEUN Engineering Faculty top student, Computer Engineering Department graduate Tümer Alp Kirinç gave a speech. Expressing his happiness of graduating from BEUN, which was founded as the first university of the Republic and is 101 years old today, with the top rank in the faculty, Kirinç thanked his family who contributed to his success, his friends he studied with, and the academicians of the department and faculty who did not withhold their efforts and support throughout his education life. Kirinç also thanked BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer for his support to the Engineering Faculty and his efforts towards the development of the University; he ended his speech by greeting his friends, families, and academic and administrative staff.
The 2024-2025 Academic Year Engineering Faculty Graduation Ceremony continued with BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer presenting gifts to the first, second and third students of the faculty after the opening speeches. Then, faculty academics came to the stage and presented graduation certificates to all graduates. The Graduation Ceremony ended with a group photo taken to commemorate the day.
