A New Model in Engineering Education: Teknolab

The Faculty of Engineering is going to apply a new model under the name of Teknolab in order to increase productivity in laboratory courses and researches. In this application, multi-disciplinary laboratory application is applied from department based laboratory application. In this application, instead of assigning laboratory to every single department about the same field, there will be a single interdisciplinary laboratory in the same room. Thus, a more robust laboratory infrastructure will be established, multi-disciplinary research productivity is expected to increase by avoiding the purchase of duplicate devices and avoiding the loss of foreign exchange and by working with researchers from different disciplines.

There will be Labor, Mechanical, Hydro Mechanic, Thermodynamics, Ground Mechanics, Unmanned and Intelligent Systems, Space Technologies and Spatial Analysis, Communication, Electronic Circuits, Microprocessors, Electric Machines, 5G, Neuroscience and Biomelation Laboratories in Teknolab with a closed area of approximately 20 thousand square meters.

Teknolab is expected to put into service in Augustand and also expected to serve as a comprehensive Science Center for secondary level students as well as providing an important Central Laboratory support for the ongoing technopark.
